Industrial Business Development Manager

Job Objective: The Industrial Business Development Manager has direct responsibility to capture Industrial Tire sales and service of targets in the assigned market area for McCarthy Tire Service. The primary tasks are to identify, document, and track opportunities with assigned Target Accounts through call reports, submission of sales proposals, and documented customer follow up. The Business Development Manager will work with individual Branch Managers, Manufacturer Sales Representatives, and Commercial Sales Representatives, to ensure sustained sales growth and overall Customer Satisfaction of Industrial Target Accounts in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland.
Responsibilities:
  • Assists Senior Management in the development of a Target Account business plan and sales strategy for the assigned market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Maintain a consistent physical presence at all sales meetings within their assigned marketing area.
  • Responsible for regular sales calls to Target Accounts with territory sales representatives and the documentation of activities. These include weekly contact reports and maintenance of Customer Profiles on a consistent basis to be logged in the appropriate CRM.
  • Manages the relationship between McCarthy Tire and large multi-location, multi-state customers to ensure consistent service, price, and product implementation throughout the McCarthy Tire Branches.
  • Maintains a weekly schedule of Field Sales activities logged in the appropriate CRM.
  • Establishes quotes for new or existing sales opportunities, documents competitive information to ensure maximum profitability.
  • Develops account acquisition and growth strategies with McCarthy Sales Representatives for new prospect and conquest accounts.  
  • Strives to achieve maximum market share in assigned accounts.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Heavily involved in the industrial training of Commercial Sales Representatives in their assigned territory.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by Senior Management.
Relationships and Roles:
Internal / External Cooperation
  • Maintains a high level of communication between the Commercial Sales and Operations departments to ensure all opportunities are acted upon in a timely fashion by the appropriate person(s).
  • Sets examples for Sales personnel in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
  • Assists in the training of sales personnel as required by Senior Management
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
Job Specifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Industrial Tire industry.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of Customer Relationship Management.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work with a team of professionals.
