Industrial Operations Manager

Job Objective : The Industrial Operations Manager acts as the technical expert in the industrial segment for McCarthy Tire Service, and the acting Director of Industrial should the need arise. The Industrial Business Development Manager has direct responsibility to maintain the technical proficiency and serviceability of equipment and personnel in the McCarthy Tire Industrial Division. The primary tasks are to identify and remedy operational issues, train and certify industrial technicians, maintain and construct tire press equipment, and conduct companywide technical training. The Industrial Operations Manager will work with individual Branch Managers, Manufacturer Sales Representatives, and Commercial Sales Representatives, to ensure sustained, safe, and efficient operations within the Industrial Division. Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland.
Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the Industrial technical advisor for McCarthy Tire Service.
  • Ensures all division equipment is safe and functional.
  • Responsible for training, maintaining, and certifying press technicians.
  • Develops industrial technicians’ compensation programs as needed.
  • Maintain and promote compliance with industry/company regulations, policies, and relevant standards.
  • Develops and conducts companywide industrial training programs.
  • Maintains positive relationships with manufacturer personnel.
  • Develops account acquisition and growth strategies with McCarthy Sales Representatives for new prospect and conquest accounts.
  • Ensures the company achieves efficient operations cost-effectiveness, and quality control.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by Senior Management.
Relationships and Roles:
Internal / External Cooperation
  • Maintains a high level of communication between the Commercial Sales and Operations departments to ensure all issues are acted upon in a timely manner by the appropriate person(s).
  • Sets examples for company personnel in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
  • Assists in the training of sales personnel as required by Senior Management
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
Job Specifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in the Industrial Tire industry.
  • Extensive experience mechanical operations including the ability to diagnose and service hydraulic systems
  • Expertise in industry safety and operating standards/regulations.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work with a team of professionals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Email, the use of a computer and a smart phone..
