Job Title: Body Shop Technician – Heavy Duty

Position Summary:
McCarthy Tire Service is seeking an experienced Body Shop Technician – Heavy Duty to repair, rebuild, and restore heavy-duty truck bodies, frames, and structural components. This position requires strong welding, fabrication, and mechanical skills to complete high-quality repairs that meet safety and performance standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, takes pride in their craftsmanship, and is committed to delivering reliable workmanship that supports McCarthy Tire Service’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair or replace damaged truck body panels, frames, and structural components.

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and oxy-acetylene welding on steel and aluminum.

  • Straighten and align frames using frame machines and measuring systems.

  • Cut, shape, and fabricate metal parts, including custom panels and components.

  • Prep, paint, and finish truck body components.

  • Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with mechanics, painters, and other technicians to complete repairs efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience performing heavy-duty body repairs, fabrication, and structural restoration.

  • Strong skills in welding, cutting, and metal forming techniques.

  • Knowledge of heavy-duty truck bodies, frames, suspension systems, and related components.

  • Ability to safely and effectively operate hand tools, power tools, and body shop equipment.

  • Technical training or education in automotive, diesel, or collision repair is considered an asset.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and efficiency..
