Business Development Manager- Industrial Tire

Job Objective:

The Industrial Business Development Manager has direct responsibility for capturing Industrial Tire sales and service targets in the assigned market area—Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Eastern Maryland—for McCarthy Tire Service.

Primary responsibilities include identifying, documenting, and tracking opportunities with assigned Target Accounts through call reports, sales proposals, and thorough customer follow-up. The Business Development Manager will collaborate with individual Branch Managers, Manufacturer Sales Representatives, and Commercial Sales Representatives to ensure sustained sales growth and exceptional customer satisfaction within the industrial sector.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist Senior Management in the development of a Target Account business plan and sales strategy for the assigned region to meet or exceed company sales goals and profitability targets.

  • Maintain a strong physical presence at all sales meetings within the assigned market.

  • Conduct regular sales calls to Target Accounts alongside territory sales reps; accurately document activities through weekly contact reports and maintain updated Customer Profiles in the CRM.

  • Manage relationships with large multi-location, multi-state customers to ensure consistent service, pricing, and product implementation across all relevant McCarthy Tire branches.

  • Maintain a structured weekly schedule of field sales activities logged in the CRM.

  • Develop and submit accurate quotes for new or existing sales opportunities; collect competitive intelligence to optimize profitability.

  • Collaborate with McCarthy Sales Representatives to strategize account acquisition and growth, especially for new prospects and conquest accounts.

  • Strive for maximum market share within assigned accounts.

  • Assist in the creation and execution of marketing initiatives as needed.

  • Play a key role in industrial training for Commercial Sales Representatives within the assigned territory.

  • Uphold all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

  • Provide regular performance feedback to senior management.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management.


Relationships and Roles:

  • Foster strong internal and external cooperation.

  • Maintain open communication between Commercial Sales and Operations departments to ensure opportunities are pursued promptly.

  • Lead by example in personal character, professionalism, organizational skills, and work habits.

  • Support sales personnel training as directed by Senior Management.

  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across all departments.


Job Specifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in the Industrial Tire industry.

  • Proven experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

  • Solid understanding of customer needs and market trends within the industrial tire sector.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Eastern Maryland, and work closely with a collaborative team of professionals.
