Job Title: Service Manager

McCarthy Tire Service is seeking a hands-on Service Manager to lead daily operations of our service and warehouse departments. This is a working manager position, meaning the Service Manager is actively involved in day-to-day service, warehouse, and yard activities while also providing leadership, coordination, and oversight to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
The Service Manager is responsible for directing and distributing commercial tire service work, overseeing technicians, and ensuring customer needs are met in a timely, effective, and safe manner.
Provide daily direction and distribution of service work orders to commercial tire technicians
Actively work alongside the team in service, warehouse, and yard operations as needed
Manage service technicians to meet and exceed monthly revenue goals
Control and manage overtime based on business volume
Create and manage staggered employee work schedules
Monitor quality and safety of all service work performed
Generate and manage computer work orders for all products and labor
Assist the sales department with scheduling incoming shop work
Review, correct, and close work orders within required timeframes
Submit service department payables to the Location Manager for approval, including:
Purchase Orders
Accounts Payable
Scrap tire disposal processing (OOSTA)
Create, edit, match, and close AS400 work orders (quotes, estimates, standard and generic)
Review and correct negative and zero-cost inventory issues
Assist with new hire orientation and employee scheduling
Support pricing of products for in-house customers
Schedule maintenance for domiciled company vehicles
Stock product and maintain accurate inventory levels
Assist with loading and unloading deliveries
Perform general warehouse and yard work, including organization and cleanup
Assist with barcoding and inventory management
Oversee shop, warehouse, and yard cleanliness and organization
Manage tooling and training needs for service technicians and mechanics
Review work orders for accuracy prior to closing
Work with billing staff to ensure correct tire billing, customer numbers, and billing codes
Assist with billing as needed
Ensure work orders are closed within 72 hours of generation
Knowledge of commercial tire construction, MRT process, and tread designs
Knowledge of commercial tire service procedures and safety requirements
Ability to match customer applications with appropriate product offerings
TIA Certification preferred
Computer literate
Ability to read and write store and operational reports
Strong customer service and problem-resolution skills
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and customer base
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints
Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
