Overview

McCarthy Tire Service is seeking a senior-level purchasing director to lead and elevate our procurement function. This is a high-impact leadership role designed for an experienced Director or above who can shape strategy, drive operational excellence, and influence company-wide performance.As a well-established, family-owned company celebrating 100 years of service, we are entering a new phase of growth. This role is critical to building a more sophisticated, data-driven, and strategic purchasing organization that strengthens vendor partnerships, optimizes cost structures, and ensures consistent service across all locations.We are looking for a leader who operates at both the strategic and executive levels—someone who can set direction, influence stakeholders, and deliver measurable results.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership

• Develop and lead enterprise-wide purchasing strategies aligned with growth, scalability, and profitability goals
• Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on supply chain risks, opportunities, and market conditions
• Build a forward-looking procurement function that leverages data, forecasting, and analytics

Vendor & Cost Management

• Own and elevate all supplier relationships, including complex contract negotiations, pricing structures, and rebate programs
• Establish long-term strategic partnerships while maintaining strong cost discipline
• Identify opportunities to consolidate spend and increase purchasing power

Operational Excellence

• Partner cross-functionally with sales, operations, and finance to ensure accurate demand planning and supply continuity
• Implement advanced purchasing systems, reporting, and inventory optimization practices
• Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and performance metrics

Market Intelligence

• Monitor industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain dynamics
• Translate market data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing purchasing team
• Build organizational capability, accountability, and succession strength within the function

Qualifications

• Proven executive or senior leadership experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (Director level or higher strongly preferred)
• Experience in multi-location operations such as automotive, tire, retail, or service-based industries
• Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, and cost optimization at scale
• Strong analytical, financial, and business acumen
• Ability to influence across departments and lead at both strategic and operational levels
• Excellent communication and leadership presence
