Looking for a career where your skills are valued and you have room to grow? McCarthy Tire Service is looking for a dependable, safety-focused Resident OTR Tire Technician to join our team supporting operations at the Port of Savannah.

This position is primarily based at the port, with minimal travel required. You’ll provide professional tire service and maintenance for large off-the-road (OTR) equipment while working closely with customers, dispatch, and our service team.

What You'll Do

• Perform tire installation, removal, repair, and maintenance on large OTR equipment.
• Inspect tires and identify wear, damage, and potential safety concerns.
• Provide safe, reliable, and professional service to customers.
• Respond to service needs and complete work efficiently and accurately.
• Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, supervisors, and other team members.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance checks.
• Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Properly use required PPE and maintain safe work practices at all times.
• Document completed work and service activities accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service area and work vehicle.
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, and incidents promptly.
• Perform other tire service and general duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum 2 years of tire, construction, heavy equipment, automotive, mechanical, or related industry experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of driving experience required.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC Card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely work with large tires, equipment, tools, and service machinery.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, instructions, and safety procedures.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
• Willingness to work occasional overtime, weekends, or after-hours service calls as needed.
