Passenger Service Mechanic

Job Title: Passenger Service Mechanic
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Passenger Service Mechanic to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair passenger service vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience with vehicle maintenance and repairs, possess a State Inspection License, and be committed to maintaining safe and dependable fleet operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostic testing to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Complete routine preventive maintenance, including:
    • Oil changes
    • Engine tune-ups
    • Tire rotations and replacements
    • Wheel balancing
    • Filter replacements
  • Diagnose and repair engine, mechanical, and electrical system malfunctions.
  • Replace defective parts and components as needed.
  • Verify vehicle performance and serviceability by conducting test drives and making necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with state safety, emissions, and inspection requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Operate and maintain shop equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and verify receipt of materials.
  • Stay current with industry advancements, technical publications, and training opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities as operational needs arise.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • State Inspection License required.
  • Experience working on passenger service vehicles preferred.
  • Must provide and maintain personal tools necessary to perform job duties.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Authorization

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and vehicle parts.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to work safely in a shop environment and around moving vehicles.
