Assistant Plant Manager
JOB TITLE: Assistant Retread Plant Manager
JOB TYPE: Full Time
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the retread facility to ensure efficient production and quality standards.
- Supervise team members during assigned shifts, monitor performance, and provide coaching and support as needed.
- Help ensure production goals are met by assisting with workflow coordination and addressing operational challenges.
- Assist in resolving customer issues or complaints by working with the Plant Manager to determine timely and effective solutions.
- Support employee training by utilizing company training tools, verifying completion, and following up to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Address employee concerns promptly and escalate issues to the Plant Manager when appropriate.
- Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, payroll review, and documentation as assigned.
- Help communicate work assignments, delegate tasks, and follow up to ensure responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain production records, documentation, and other operational reports.
- Monitor plant equipment and report maintenance needs to help ensure equipment remains in safe working condition.
- Assist in managing production schedules while maintaining established quality and productivity standards.
- Promote and enforce a safe work environment by following and supporting all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels, minimizing waste, and maintaining inventory within company guidelines.
- Work with supervisors and team members to maintain the cleanliness and organization of both the interior and exterior of the facility.
- Serve as acting Plant Manager in the Plant Manager's absence, as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform other duties as assigned. Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs, and the successful candidate should be flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing, production, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in the tire retreading industry is a plus.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and team members.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and experience with production documentation are preferred.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
